Originally launched a decade ago with funding from the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), this vital program was launched again from 2021 to 2024.

An initiative that focuses on empowering Women in Peacebuilding and Politics for Lebanese and refugee women and girls, by enhancing their skills in Peacebuilding Policy Debating and Conflict Mitigation and Mediation committees.

Engaging hundreds of women and girls, aged 19 and above, from across all of Lebanon to strengthen their discourse on critical issues related to peacebuilding; and enhance their role in promoting peaceful coexistence within their communities.

The initiative aimed for a measurable improvement in their ability to influence policy decisions and effectively resolve conflicts, thereby fostering a more inclusive and peaceful society.

Impact on Peacebuilding and Policy

The project's success is clearly reflected in the active involvement of women in debating and shaping peacebuilding policies. This highlights their increasingly significant and recognized role in the broader peacebuilding process.

A notable outcome is the call for municipal committees led by women to resolve conflicts. This initiative underscores the project's success in:

Promoting female leadership at the local governance level.
Ensuring that women's voices are central to policy development and implementation, particularly in areas critical to community stability and peace.

The results indicate a tangible shift towards greater female participation and influence in political and peacebuilding spheres.
